Ava is a happy 3-month old baby and
continues to amaze us daily with her developing personality. She is full
of expression and quick to give a smile. Looking at Ava you would have
no idea what kind of rollercoaster ride our household had been on since
she arrived. Bringing home a new baby has its own challenges but with
several family illnesses happening all at once and auction season
beginning we had our hands full. JillMarie developed Shingles
immediately after Ava was born then had to step into a full schedule of
auction just two weeks later. Tim had an emergency appendectomy, and
JillMarie’s dad survived major heart surgery. This all happened within 4
weeks time. JillMarie made the comment that riding over 30,000 miles on
a Harley Davidson seemed easy after surviving the last few weeks. One
thing we have developed is a renewed sense of humor. We would look at
each other and remind ourselves that we could get through everything
together by recalling a tough time on a road trip. “Remember the
tornadoes that chased us in Ohio?....... Do you remember the rainstorm
in North Carolina where we had to hide under the overpass?..... Oh man,
do you remember riding at night to avoid the heat in Arizona? The night
on the mountain in Sheridan, Wyoming?, spinning the chain on the
Sportster in Idaho, the traffic jam in Seattle coming home from the 4
corners ride?” By reminiscing about the miles we have traveled together
gave us the strength we needed to laugh at whatever life brought next.
Each day continues to get better and we know with the help of our
friends and family we can get through anything.
Ava
laughed for the first time on Tim’s birthday and it was the best present
he received. She is a constant joy for her sister Lily who can’t leave
her alone. One of Lily’s favorite activities of the day is to have tummy
time with her sister. It’s the one time that she gets to be totally
alone with “her baby”. She doesn’t realize that there is a watchful eye
keeping tabs and that Mom is eavesdropping on the conversation she is
having. Ava enjoys all the attention and responds with cooing and
blowing bubbles, which Lily finds adorable. She’ll respond, “Mom, come
look Sissy is smiling at me so big! She really likes me! Isn’t she
wonderful Mommy? When Ava begins to walk and is getting into all of
Lily’s toys I’ll remind her how wonderful she thought Sissy was at 3
months. Stay tuned….. |
