Jill fixed us a great breakfast and Eric surprised us by detailing our bikes before we left. We sad goodbye to our gracious New York hosts and headed off to catch the Ferry that would take us across the Long Island Sound to New London. 27A was a smooth winding road with plenty of countryside and low traffic. Eric forewarned us that it was a fun ride and he was right. We boarded the Ferry with about 6 other bikes and found out what a small world we live in when we met Faith from Manhattan who was out for a ride with her boyfriend. Faith was originally from Tualatin, which is 20 miles from where we live. Her mom also taught at Canby High School for many years so we had fun talking with her about our hometown. With the Ferry ride taking almost 2 hours we decided to catch up on writing updates and to relax. In looking over the bikes it also appeared that JillMarie’s rear tire was showing some wear and would need to be replaced at the next service. The ferry docked in New London with plenty of riding time left in the day. The weather was great and we took advantage to take in the scenery as we headed to Boston. Just outside of the city we decided to get a room in Sharon, Mass. before it got too late grab some dinner and route the next day to Bangor, Maine.
